Ten Hookergate students travelled to The Sage on Tuesday afternoon to perform in the 2009 Gateshead Dance Festival.

The routine had been prepared and choreographed over a number of weeks by Year 13 students Ruth McKie and Emily Smart.
On arrival we had time to enjoy the view of the Tyne in the sunshine before entering The Sage. Hall One was a daunting venue for the girls but they all took it in their stride. We watched and waited for our turn to perform and were amazed at the high standard of performances by all the schools participating.
When our turn arrived the girls ran on stage, their ‘poms’ held high, and produced a most outstanding performance. It was clear the amount of effort and number of rehearsals that the girls had taken part in – their performance was flawless.
The girls were a credit to the school and should be congratulated for their hard work and commitment.
