Wimbledon Trip Monday 22nd June

We were lucky enough to secure Wimbledon tickets for the second year running, so off we went with eight year 9 students.

It was an early start – the 6.30am train – but it made sure we were in the Wimbledon ground with plenty of time to ‘sight see’ before play began at 1pm.
It was a humid day but not a rain cloud in sight, fantastic. The first part of our day was spent looking around the ground and soaking up the atmosphere. It didn’t take long for the students to find and secure a seat on ‘Henman Hill’.
As we had tickets for Court 1 we were in our seats ready to see the first match at 1pm. We saw Maria Sharapova, Robin Soderling and Fernando Verdasco – all who produced some fantastic tennis. The afternoon also included watching the matches on Centre Court on the big screen from ‘Henman Hill’.
All in all it was a superb day, an experience I am sure the students will never forget.
Here's hoping we get tickets next year too!
