History - Local Industrial Revolution Homework

YEAR 8 PROJECT ON THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION IN THE LOCAL AREA

Over the next weeks your Homework and some school time will be to choose a building or area near you that existed or was used in the Industrial Revolution.

You must then prepare a small topic and talk about your chosen project. This should last about 5 mins.

INFORMATION

How it was used?

Who used it?

What products it produced?

Why it was important?

Who lived there?

What was it like inside and out?

What jobs the people did?

What they did for entertainment?

You can use the libraries, internet, books, and old photos, visit the site and take photos, talk to people in the area.

Examples: streets, brickworks, coalmines, railways, mills.
